New Hope Liuhe Co., Ltd. 2024 Sustainability Repo

From 1994 to 2024, the Guangcai Program, initiated with the paicipation of New Hope Liuhe, has spanned three decades of development. This socialinitiative was launched by private entrepreneurs in response to the National "Eight-Seven Povey Alleviation Plan", bearing the historical mission of"those who become prosperous rst helping those who lag behind." As one of the program’s original initiators, New Hope Group has consistentlyupheld the principle of industrial povey alleviation that balances social responsibility and protability, seamlessly integrating corporate developmentwith national strategies. Keeping pace with the times, the Company has continuously explored and innovated its approaches—shifting from one-oproject-based suppo to integrated assistance across entire industrial chains; from simple investment to a more comprehensive model combininginvestment, branding, talent cultivation, and information-sharing; and from isolated individual eos to joint initiatives with strategic paners. Theseevolving practices have kept the Guangcai Program vibrant and impactful, standing as a testament to the synergy between private enterprise andnational development.

30 Years of the Guangcai Program – SustainedHope for Rural Revitalization

Sowing Hope, Igniting the Guangcai Program

In the inaugural year of the Guangcai Program, New Hope Liuhe invested in and constructed the Xichang Hope Feed Facto in Xichang City, LiangshanPrefecture, Sichuan Province. This initiative brought modern agricultural technology to the impoverished Greater Liangshan area. Over three decades, ithas empowered more than 20,000 farmers to increase their income and achieve prosperity, with an average annual increase exceeding RMB 3,000 perhousehold. Building on this success, the Group invested RMB 2.6 billion to establish over 40 similar povey alleviation factories across regions includingXinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Hainan, Henan, Shanxi, and Shandong. The Guangcai Program spreadrapidly, inspiring an increasing number of private entrepreneurs to join the movement.

Responsibility Focus

Sustainable Development Assistance, Innovating the Guangcai ProgramAs povey alleviation eos entered a new phase, New Hope Liuhe ocially launched the 1+1 Precision Povey Alleviation Plan in 2017. This marked ashift from single project assistance to comprehensive supply chain suppo. Leveraging the Company's industrial strengths in breeding, feed production, and slaughtering, it developed sophisticated poverty alleviation models such as "3+N" and "4+N." These models fostered collaborative assistancecommunities with multiple stakeholders, aimed at providing stable income streams to impoverished households.

Preseing the Founding Vision, Perpetuating the Guangcai Program

Thiscomprehensive initiative focuses on ve key areas: improving rural infrastructure, constructing community facilities, enhancing village cleanliness, beautifying rural environments, and fostering new developments in agriculture and village economies. In 2021, the Company, in panership with theNational School of Development at Peking University, launched the Village Head Course public welfare training initiative. This project aims to cultivate500 rural grassroots governance leaders over a ve-year span. In the four years since its inception, the program has attracted over 3,000 village headsto paicipate in the selection process, with more than 400 trainees successfully completing the curriculum. Its inuence has rippled through over 3,000villages, establishing a scientic, practical, and replicable model for nuuring rural grassroots management talent. The 30-year milestone of the Guangcai Program not only signifies a remarkable achievement but also heralds a new era of opportunity. Movingforward, New Hope Liuhe is committed to seing as a steadfast practitioner of common prosperity through its unwavering dedication to agriculturaldevelopment. To fuher amplify the spirit of the Guangcai Program and maximize the impact of the VillageHead Course platform, this training session concurrently launched the Seed Plan project. This initiative oers scholarshipfor exceptional action plans and paicipating villages, aiming to establish a robust, long-term follow-up and evaluationmechanism. Chairperson Liu Chang delivers a keynote lecture entitled "TheAnswer to Rural Revitalization Lies Beneath Our Feet" to the trainees.

Tekoujiagu Village in Zhaojue County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, stands as an exempla project of New Hope Liuhe's "4+N" precisionpovey alleviation model. In this context, "4" represents the Zhaojue County People's Government, the Sichuan Branch of the People's Bank of China,New Hope Liuhe, and the village collective economy (cooperative). The "N" symbolizes the registered poor households in the village. Under thismodel, the government and bank provide funds and subsidized loans to villagers; the Company oers comprehensive seices including piglets, feed, technology, and sales, while also bearing disease and market risks. Villagers, in turn, receive dividends from their shares and can earn wages throughtheir labor. The project was completed and commenced operations in April 2018, emerging as one of the most advanced breeding bases in ZhaojueCounty and the broader Liangshan Prefecture at that time. By the end of 2024, the project had sent 16,000 pigs to market, disbursed RMB 5.17 millionin contract breeding fees, distributed RMB 1.39 million in dividends, beneted 1,130 villagers, and trained 12 local technicians, constantly drivingeconomic growth and income improvement for the villagers.Building on this successful pilot, New Hope Liuhe has propagated the Zhaojue Model of breeding-based poverty alleviation to its branches andsubsidiaries nationwide. The Company actively explores a multidimensional povey alleviation model that integrates "modern agriculture + precisionpovey alleviation + ecological environmental protection." In economically challenged counties such as Shibing in Guizhou, Xiajin in Shandong, andYijun in Shaanxi, New Hope Liuhe has invested in establishing pig farms integrating breeding and promotion.
